Join us at Tuxedo Junction Gotta Dance 2018 and celebrate our friends and families in the cancer community. Tuxedo Junction guests have raised over $1,100,000 for research supported through Cancer Council Victoria. Tuxedo Junction has earned its reputation as a glamorous event featuring a fabulous live show and superb food and wine all presented in one of Melbourne's most beautiful and iconic ballrooms. An intimate event where every guest is special and every one has a chance to contribute to a cause which touches us all.

We are pleased and thrilled to announce our MC Glen Moriarty! With an 11 year stint as a reporter for Channel 9’s Postcards travel show Glen Moriarty has been a regular on Australian television screens since 2005, a on eyed Magpies supporter, he is also an integral part of the Digital media Team for the Collingwood Football Club.  His other charitable endeavors include supporting the Royal Melbourne Music Therapy Programme, The Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation and Treasure Chest Charity.

Thomas Lacey
Thomas recently starred in Baz Luhrmann’s Strictly Ballroom the Musical as Scott Hastings - a leading role that showcased him as an extraordinary triple threat.  He has also just toured as featured vocalist with Hugh Jackman in Broadway to Oz and travelled to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to perform with The Tap Pack. Thomas amassed a large fan base from his role as Ben Tickle in the ABC’s hit teen series Dance Academy.  His theatre credits include The Magic Faraway Tree (Garry Ginivan Productions), Singin’ in the Rain, Oliver! (Melbourne and Singapore), The Wizard of Oz (GFO/SEL) and for The Production Company - The Music Man, Bye Bye Birdie and Oklahoma!  A career highlight was performing in the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony. Having commenced dancing at the age of two at the May Downs School of Dance, Thomas trained in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary Dance and Acrobatics.  He has also trained at Danceworx in Ballroom, Latin and New Vogue.

Phoebe Panaretos
Phoebe Panaretos made her professional debut in Cameron Mackintosh’s production of Oliver! when she was just 11. After graduating from the Victorian College of the Arts she was cast in the Television series Mr and Mrs Murder. Lucy toured through Asia with the production of ‘Thomas and The Hidden Treasure’ and was also in The Production Company’s season of ‘Singin’ in the Rain’. In 2014, Phoebe made international headlines after being handpicked by Baz Luhrmann to play the lead role of Fran in the world premiere musical adaptation ‘Strictly Ballroom The Musical’ for which she was nominated for Helpmann and Green Room Awards for Best Female In A Musical. In 2016 Phoebe performed as Connie Francis in Dream Lover directed by Simon Philips for the Gordon Frost Organisation and most recently she played the role of Whatsername in the Australian premiere of American Idiot at Brisbane’s Playhouse Theatre, directed by Craig Ilott.

PSA is one of Australia’s leading performing arts institutions offering a plethora of specialised courses to develop and push the country’s next generation of young vibrant performers. The full-time programs at PSA are run in conjunction with Swinburne University, giving our students recognised qualifications at the end of their training.PSA is home to diverse and challenging courses that are directed by this country’s leading professionals. European Cabaret Principal, Todd Patrick directs the Full-Time Performing Arts course, which encompasses the country’s most sought after teachers and choreographers. The course has the highest alumni employment rate in the Country and maintains some of the strongest connections with current industry professionals. Broadway and West End Choreographer, Andrew Hallsworth, directs an elite two year full-time Musical Theatre Course, producing a multitude of successful alumni, who are seen performing not only across Australia but in the World’s most recognised theatre’s. Patrick Studios now offers The Academy- High School of Performing Arts which supports year 7-12 students who wish to complete their VCE whilst undertaking comprehensive performing arts training. Patrick Studios offers a completed support and training system from school all the way through the lifespan of their careers.

The May Downs School of Dancing is a Melbourne institution and has been teaching dance for over 100 years. The Principle is Renie Ann Martini who is supported by a dedicated and multi talented professional staff who teach Ballet ‘RAD’, Tap ‘CSTD’, Jazz, Acrobatics and singing. It certainly is one Fantastic Dance School. Famous names that have been through the school include the likes of Kelvin Coe, Yvonne Barrett, Patti Newton, Pat Carol, Denise Drysdale and David Atkins, to mention just a few. Students are well disciplined and trained for professional work. They have appeared recently in Velvet, Hello Dolly, Matilda, The Sound of Music, Cats, Strictly Ballroom, The King and I, Les Miserables, numerous Australian Ballet productions, Australian Opera and the famous Moulin Rouge in Paris to name a few. This is a very exciting school that opens doors to many opportunities.

Brought together by the Big Band passion of Henry K in 2003, the B# Big Band is being increasingly enjoyed by jazz, swing, groove and dance fans all around Melbourne. B# are a dance band, a lounge band and a functions band - a band that guarantees to get toes a-tapping, hearts a-pounding and dance floors filled. The band consists of Melbourne's highest calibre and experienced jazz and session musicians - including those that are regular band members in various theatre productions, and on TV shows such as 'Dancing With The Stars' & ‘The Logie Awards’. Combined with B#'s ability to re-create the magic of the 30s, 40s and 50s swing eras, through to horn filled 60s and 70s dance anthems, you’re assured entertainment of the highest quality and professionalism. See and hear what all the B# fuss is about on July 29th as B# teams up for an 11th year in a row with Tuxedo Junction at The Plaza Ballroom.
